
The Village of Bosque Farms is a small rural community located about 10 miles south of Albuquerque on NM 47 in Valencia County. We are a 24/7 full-service police department who also provides law enforcement services to the Town of Peralta.
The Bosque Farms Police Department is always accepting lateral applications for the position of police officer. Applicants must be New Mexico LEO certified or qualify for the LEO certification-by-waiver process at the time of hire.
We offer comprehensive training through in house instructors, neighboring departments, NM LEA, and private training partners throughout New Mexico to bring the best resources to the county.
We work closely with surrounding agencies in both Valencia and Bernalillo counties.

The Process (Please read in full before submitting application or calling the department):
The process begins with completing the PD Application and Release of Information Authorization completed forms attached below. Email these forms to the email listed below with the subject line as “Police Applicant.”
Once this is done a member of the police department will contact you and to let you know we received your application and if we have any positions currently open. Each application will get reviewed, a background check will be started and references will be contacted. Once these tasks are completed a decision will be made to determine if your application moves onto the next steps which will include a Personal Information Questionnaire (PIQ), verification of the PIQ information and an in-person interview. If you are selected for consideration for hire you will be provided with a conditional offer letter and further instructions to complete tasks such as a medical screening and a drug screening which you must pass.
Automatic disqualifiers for employment as a BFPD police officer include: any pending misdemeanor charges, any past felony convictions, pending LEA-90, LEA revocation or suspension in the last 6 months, DWI conviction in the last 5 years, Domestic Violence conviction, Dishonorable military discharge, and/or failure to disclose past criminal history.
